Get Those Holiday Packages Out

I saw an impressive advertisement on TV the other day. Surprisingly it was for the Post Office. Yep, the government agency. The ad was aimed at small businesses to encourage them to use flat rate shipping. Domestic flat rate shipping starts at $4.95 for a 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8" box. That's big enough to fit Small Electronics, DVDs and CDs. It's darn cheap and, it's not just for business.

But is it USPS shipping really good? How does it compare to FedEx or UPS? Well, to save me some time a news team in Kansas City did the work. They found that the USPS Flat Rate came out on top for fastest and cheapest.

I'm also impressed by the USPS website it's informative and inclusive with shipping deadlines listed for Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. To get the best price you'll have to adhere to their deadlines, which are clearly posted on the site. You can also get free boxes delivered to your home, purchase postage, print your shipping labels and get free home pickup.
